松茸，学名松口蘑，别名松蕈、合菌、台菌，隶属担子菌亚门、口蘑科，是松栎等树木外生的菌根真菌，具有独特的浓郁香味，是世界上珍稀名贵的天然药用菌。

松茸好生于养份不多而且比较干燥的林地，一般在秋季生成，通常寄生于赤松、偃松、铁杉、日本铁杉的根部。四川、西藏、云南等青藏高原一带是我国松茸的主要产地，产量四川为首、品质西藏为佳、名气香格里拉最大。

云南松茸产量占全国松茸产量的40%，而迪庆香格里拉松茸占云南省鲜松茸出口量的65%以上。所以，迪庆已成为云南的“松茸之乡”。 松茸，是迪庆州唯一的大宗出口商品，也是迪庆各族农民脱贫致富的主要经济来源。

松茸的稀有不仅是因为其成长速度缓慢，也是因为采集困难。松茸一旦突出地面并张开蕈伞，其香气就会大量逸失，吃起来的味道也变差，经济价值自然大幅滑落。因此，松茸的采集必须在松茸刚露头的时候就连根挖出，是一项要求高度的观察力与丰富的经验的工作。虽然一直有人尝试进行商业化的大量栽培，然而迄今仍未有足以量产的成果，所以目前市面上所贩卖的松茸几乎都还是人力上​​山采集而来的。

Matsutake or songrong (Chinese and Japanese: 松茸, Korean: 송이 (Songyi), pine mushroom, Tricholoma matsutake = syn. T. nauseosum = syn. Armillaria ponderosa) is the common name for a highly sought mycorrhizal mushroom that grows in Asia, Europe, and North America. It is prized in Japanese, Korean, and Chinese cuisine for its distinct spicy-aromatic odor.

Though simple to harvest, matsutake are hard to find because of their specific growth requirements and the rarity of appropriate forest and terrain, combined with competition from local folk and wild animals such as squirrel, rabbits and deer for the once-yearly harvest of mushrooms, causing the price to be very high at times or as low as $2 per pound for pickers when the market will bear it.
